Melanie Daniels has her hands full trying to protect her family from the neighborhood gangster. The last thing she needs is her old flame and first love, Nicolás ‘Nic’ Gavilan, barging into her life and offering help she hasn’t asked for. But as difficult as it is to admit it, she needs him. She can’t afford to say no.
Nine years is a long time to love someone from afar. Nic stepped away from Melanie to protect her, but now that trouble is at her doorstep, he can no longer watch from a distance. He is determined to keep their relationship strictly platonic, help her and be on his way. But the heart wants what it wants, and even the best laid plans can go wrong.

Loved Melanie and Nic together. You can feel the love between the two. Would have loved if the author would have written the first chapter about when they met and how they got to the point where they're walking down the street at night, but the book was great without it also. The reason for the 4 star instead of 5, is because the author didn't give notice of when she changing perspectives between the 2 characters. One minute you're reading from Melanie's point of view and the next sentence was from Nic's. I got lost a couple of time, but other than that, it was a solid read.Product details

Don't Say No edition by Linda Verji Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
GREAT READ! Has all the elements that make up a good, good book. Once I started reading it, I could not put it down. Strong, take charge hero and an equally strong heroine who sometimes got on my nerves due to her stubbornness nevertheless, this is a MUST read.
Excellent read. Loved the book. Didn't like the lead female character. The author was going for strong and determined and loyal but the character came off as stupid, too stubborn, willing 5o cut her nose off to spite her face. At times she was a bit much.
I totally loved it, the spelling was off, but I do recommend for a good read, I focus on the whole story, and the story was well put together, and the love between these two was shown through the story could of been more, but it worked.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I like Linda's writing style. Can't wait for her next book to come out. Maybe even a story about Melanie's brother finding his own HEA
This book was okay. It had certain parts that were great, but then at certain points it was lacking.
Nic and Melanie were cute. I liked Melanie has the female lead; she was strong, soft, and loving. My only problem was her brother. I'm all about family and loyalty, but sometimes we have to let family make mistakes.
Nic was a great Alpha male, that was strong, and capable. I needed more background info on Nic. I felt like parts of the story was missing. Also I wanted to know more about Melanie and Nic's past relationship.
Gosh, I just loved it. I loved the female lead's crazy stubbornness, her compassion and love of people. You really feel the chemistry between the main characters. I personally enjoy explicit intimate imagery...these were pretty well-written & not over the top.
Nic, good lawd; double life alpha hotness. I wanted to hear bit more of his voice. I loved all the silly male banter and wanted a little more of their interaction.
Maybe I missed it but I actually wanted to know more about Melanie...how she became the teenager/woman we saw in the book. I wanted to get a glimpse of her upbringing prior to moving in with her aunt.
Some of the transitions were a bit awkward going from one viewpoint to the next. Otherwise just a good story that wasn't all "nothing really bad happens" & "everything thing is good." There was some grittiness too.
Kudos to the author for a great romantic suspense. I recommend this book & plan to read more.
This was not a love story both of the main characters were annoying. Who writes a book about love when the love wasn't even developed good enough. I'm so pissed off right now
I spent my damn money on this book. Why would would you have them apart majority of the book? You seriously need to rewrite this book and not have them separated like that. Her brother gets have a child but she doesn't REALLY!!! Ugh!!!
